Concussion Management Policy
All-Around Sports Camps LLC
Effective Date: May 21st, 2025
Purpose
This policy outlines the procedures for managing suspected or diagnosed concussions among campers participating in physical activities. The goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in compliance with Oregon state laws and best medical practices.
Scope
This policy applies to all camp participants, staff, volunteers, and any individuals involved in sports-related activities with All-Around Sports Camps.

A. Camp Responsibilities
1. Suspected or Diagnosed Concussion
Any camper showing signs, symptoms, or behaviors consistent with a concussion following a blow to the head or body will be immediately removed from all athletic activities for the remainder of the day.
Common symptoms include (but are not limited to): confusion, headache, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, unsteadiness, or sensitivity to light/noise.
Camp staff must not allow the camper to return to play until medically cleared (see below), regardless of symptom improvement.
Parents or guardians will be notified immediately if a concussion is suspected or diagnosed.
2. Return to Participation (RTP)
Campers removed for a suspected or diagnosed concussion shall not return to physical activity until:
They are symptom-free, and
The camp receives a medical release form signed by a Qualified Health Care Professional licensed in Oregon.
As of July 1, 2020, Qualified Health Care Professionals include:
Medical Doctor (MD)
Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Naturopathic Doctor (ND)*
Nurse Practitioner (NP)*
Physician Assistant (PA)*
*These professionals must have completed the Oregon Concussion Return-To-Play Education course and provide proof of completion.
3. Informed Consent for Camp Participation
Prior to the start of camp, parents/guardians will:
Receive information through the concussion management policy about concussion signs, symptoms, and management, and
Sign a Concussion Informed Consent Form acknowledging they have reviewed the material and agree to abide by this policy.
The camp will retain signed forms for the duration of the program and make them available for inspection upon request.
B. Staff and Volunteer Responsibilities
If any staff member suspects a camper may have a concussion, they must:
